The festivities start the last sunday of this month, the 25th of February! The Crida is the official beginning of the Fallas. It takes place as always in the Torres de Serrano. During this celebration, the mayor of the city hands the keys of the city over to the Fallera Mayor. Then, music concerts, traditional dance exhibitions and firework end the night!
From the 1st to the 19th of March at 14:00, a Mascleta is organised every day in Plaza del Ayuntamiento. Each Mascleta shakes the the buildings of city center and gives shivers to thousand of spectators. This is an unmissable event!
From the 15th to the 19th of March, there is another firework around midnight in the Jardines de la Turia
15th of March: Installation of the Fallas Infantiles
16th of March: Installation of the Fallas all over the city
17th of March: First offering to the Virgin in the Plaza de la Virgen
18th of March: Second offering to the Virgin in the Plaza de la Virgen and Nit del Foc at 01:30 (Big firework) in the Jardines de la Turia
19th of March: End of the Fallas. It’s called the Crema! All the fallas are burnt in a bonfire!
Unavoidable visit: illuminations of Calle Sueca and Calle Cuba!
A big contest of illumination during which the streets and discricts of Valencia compete is organised every year during the Fallas! For ages now, the Calle Cuba and Calle Sueca have dominated the contest! The streets look like big open sky cathedral! Memories and amazement guaranteed!
